I'm looking for any new tribes, gifts, talismans, banes, etc. that may be floating around out there for the live action game. If there are things you see that I've missed, then send them to me. Thanks!

Local History

The first Caern in east central Florida was opened up by the Uktena in its early days back in 1100 AD or so, at what is known as Sebastian today. It was not a very well known sept, but it did see an increase in population every winter. Very little of any import happened for many years, and the sept grew slowly. Several decades after being opened, two packs of Wendigo opened up a long forgotten Caern once held by Nuwisha just north of the Uktenas. After a brief rivalry, the Uktena sept dominated the Wendigo sept, integrating the two together. Once again, for many years nothing noteworthy happened. In 1532, a pack of Nuwisha came to visit from the deep Umbra, and as a favor to the sept, they opened up a permanent moon bridge between the two caserns. That bridge is permanently opened on any night that the moon shines. The Gate Keeper can close the bridge down using a rite similar to opening a normal moon bridge.

In 1843, a small group of Hermetic mages were discovered in what is now Melbourne. There was a brief period of glory seeking, battle, and bloodshed... then the mages decided that there were worse things in this area than the mosquitoes after all, and they left. A third gate was added to the permanent moon bridge leading to the old chantry, but the story of how or why has been lost.

Currently, the original Caern is owned by Arlo Guthrie, a popular sixties folk singer (very kinfolk). Arlo has released a new album with an updated recording of Alice's Restaurant, so he is much to busy touring to be seen at the sept very much. The second Caern is in West Melbourne at "Erna Nixon's Hammock" and is a hangout for Glass Walkers. The third leg of the triangle ends up in the Botanical Gardens at the Florida Institute of Technology. The gate appears inside the oldest standing schoolhouse in Florida.

There is rumored to be a drive by Central Florida Glasswalkers to start up their own sept in Brevard. The most likely place is in National Wildlife Refuge at Kennedy Space Center, but there is a strong technocracy following there, and it is highly monitored. Rumor has it that there is a strong Dreamspeaker or Shaman there, but he would have to be very good at hiding.

The St. John's River flows north through Brevard, and would be a great place for a Caern if it were not for the pesticides and fertilizers running off from farmlands. This causes massive fish kills on a regular basis. Rumor has it that the St. John's flows north because Georgia sucks. Obviously only the local Ragabash pretend to believe this.

In late November, the warder of the Caern at Erna Nixon's Hammock (Number Cruncher) disappeared and was thought to be suffering from Harrano. With one pack mate recently killed and another asking to leave to start his own pack no one would be surprised. More than that, however, was a strong Glasswalker faction trying to either convince the warder join them in creating their own sept in Brevard or to ruin Cruncher's businesses.

Three weeks later, Cruncher's pack-mate Remmy found a clue as to his location and assembled a small rescue party. What they found was a three story building with an electrified fence, no windows, and motion detectors. Once inside, they found plenty of guards with dart guns filled with a drug that sapped their strength and rage from them. They also found Cruncher sprinkled with silver dust and bound to a table with silver shackles. He had been used for physiological research and vivisection. They also found a document attesting to the nature of the offending corporation.

The late December moot saw some action when the Keeper of the Land (Halfback) got fed up with his nowhere job and challenged Number Cruncher for the position of Warder of the Caern. Since Tom had not recovered from his wounds, most thought this was a cheap shot, but the Master of the Challenge said that since it was a time peace, it was legal. Tom did the unexpected and accepted a physical challenge. He reasoned that the position of Warder requires combat ability, and he expected to lose face if he chose 'programming' as his weapon. Both combatants survived, but Tom lost his position and was severely injured. Collin O'Domnail took the new warder out back of the sept and taught him some things about fighting. Halfback was knocked so hard, his ancestors felt it.

This page is (as is every page on the web) currently under construction. It was last updated this year. If you found any of this entertaining or useful, or have any suggestions send mail to: Daniel B Utecht.

Future plans include new fetishes, gifts, totems, spirits, banes, plot twists, and expanded rules for Black Spiral Dancers and Bastet. I might even make up rules for were-bears and were-gators if there is a need.
